I seem to be having problems today uploading from pc to the unit, instead of showing the connecting screen, it just keeps going over to the download windows screen as if i'm a first time user.
Tried downloading the new windows bit but to no avail as it still does the same. Although! earlier today i did manage to download a coarse to the unit with no problems.
The rest of the page is working ok ie showing my done routes etc.
Any ideas?

TIA

Update..I just found this if i now try to download to the device..."Garmin Communicator Plugin NOT detected" ?

Still wavin'
Your browser is probably blocking the communicator plug in. Either allow it via settings, or click on " always allow" if you get that as an option/ prompt.

That seems to be the results i just had, i clicked "always allow" but still just get this >

Getting started is easy!
Download Garmin Express to sync your device with Garmin Connect.
Download for Windows

I've tried to sync 3 or 4 times but still get the same results

Do you think it could be a problem cropped up with the unit?

It's strange because the "dashboard etc" works fine?

I couldn't upload my ride tonight to Garmin connect either. Looks to me like they did some sort of upgrade to the website so it no longer works with the "old" plugin.

You might have some luck if you remove the existing plugin, and then reinstall. Or maybe you just need to wait until garmin fix a bug in the website.

For my part, since it appears they will not support linux, I will simply stop using garmin connect.

Have you just done a Windows update as this sounds exactly like what I had when internet explorer was updated to version 10

Mine got overloaded and I had to delete some files, it was only showing so pre reset (previously deleted files) and not showing the latest. It done similar this month so I've reset the unit again.

[QUOTE 3139384, member: 259"]I was wondering this a few days ago and I stumbled across this. I haven't tried it yet, though.

That is what I use now. The "modern" does not use plug ins now (from what I understand). When I search for devices, it says go away and pay Microsoft some money.
Hopefully the "old" will remain as an option.

I have abandoned garmin connect. Just uploading to Strava and RWGPS now.

If newer garmin products cannot be used on linux, I guess I will need to look for a different brand if I decide on a new purchase.

I could possibly run under wine, but its a lot of faff. I don't use the Garmin in any serious way, so I will probably sack it off and just use map my ride on my phone.
