I have a garmin edge 500 and on New Year's Day I tried the breadcrumb guide, how the hell does it work ?, twice I had to turn around because I went off course, all it is is a line with an arrow but I atleast thought it would say I need to go left or right.
Any ideas how to follow it.

You just follow the line. Simple.
The line follows what ever road/course/route you have programmed it to.
If you get a beep saying you are off course/route then you are off the breadcrumb line and so you are off route.

To get it to tell you to turn lefty or right then you have to use another programme to manually enter the turn instructions. Someone no doubt will be along in a bit to help you out a bit more.

Ill deffo be downloading that. That's a bit stupid listening for a beep to go off after you have missed the turning, with road conditions and traffic noise it's stupidly hard to hear.

Here it is

You have to register.
You can then rename the points LT (Left Turn) RT (Right Turn) 3rdLT (3rd Left) etc

I think the 500 only has room for x50 points.
But may be wrong.

To be honest I found it too much hassle.
I use both the Edge 200 & 500 breadcrumb trails with no problems. Only roundabouts sometimes seem to be a problem working our which exit.
