My oldest Garmin probably still around somewhere in a drawer is an Edge 500. I did have older Garmin’s but they are now long gone.

I have recently purchased a 1050 and I have to say that the screen resolution and map detail is really quite incredible to be honest. That said, its never worth the price it costs, but does anything these days?
Are you still happy now weather is colder. Any screen freeze of touch screen insensitivity?

(I'm not OP). I have both the 1040 Solar (used of Croix-de-Fer upright) and the 1050 (used on tadpole recumbent).
Even at the moment with dull winter days and my riding with sunglasses (for protection from insects and muck) I still find the 1050 screen really good and clear (whereas the 1040 Solar I've been adjusting screen to manual max brightness)

No issues what so ever to be honest. Plus, now that I have got used to it and fine tuned some of the setting I'm happy with it, still not worth the money though!!
