Thanks for the advice, have not bought the cadence thing yet.... Got the heart rate monitor ... Will see how it goes

90 -100 cadence, really? Surely it's about what you find comfortable and for me that's 70-80 at the moment.

Could you give me proof of that statement please. Personally being overgeared puts more stress on my knackered knee.
Sure, read any cycling magazine with a training or cadence article and you'll see all the bollocks you require.

I think you're confused.
I agree, must be speaking of those 'other ' magazines..

Anyway, I tried 85 - 90 rpm on the trainer this afternoon and it felt too quick. That said, the higher rpm was less stressful on the joints, but of course this is with no wind resistance so the real world will differ. Each to their own I would say.
