I just pick up mine this morning and am keen to try it on my next ride.
Just playing with it at the moment to get used to its different functions.

That's the best thing. Just keep playing with the device to learn how to use it.
There's also DC Rainmakers brilliant review and walk through if you need.
One thing I really love about the device and one of the main reasons for buying one is the really long battery life.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
I have the mk 1 and its brilliant although a bit low on battery life compared to the new model although i did have it on for 5 and a half hours with 4 hours of riding following a route and sensors and it was still 45 % left on the charge .

That's awesome. Hope you have a blast on your next ride. It's smart to play with it first to get comfortable. Enjoy.

Mrs Tkk has just purchased one of those. She had the original and the updated version is much more responsive and feels easier to use. She also purchased a Brompton G Line to test it with 😀

V pleased with mine, which i bought 2 or so years ago.

It does occasionally feels underpowered, eg it's slow to recalculate a route when you decide to go offpiste, and it really struggled when i loaded a 400km route - had to split that into 2 halves.
As for battery life, a 24 hour ride gave it no problems. Great little product.

How good is its rerouting?
The 530 has an annoying habit of instructing a U turn. Having ignored that one day at a crossroads the obvious way to rejoin the planned route was straight on but the 530 instructed a right turn which would have lead to cycling two sides of a triangle.

If, like the Explore 1, it works OK, but I leave re-route off, and have done with all my Garmins - easier to look at the screen to follow the route.

Been very happy with the older model, and can do a full day with a backup battery pack - used that on a 4 day bike packing trip, with nav on for 8-10 hours a day. Only thing I find with the older model, is the battery will run flat if left unused - possibly because it sometimes wakes and goes into power save.
