Have managed to bust my Garmin Etrex 20 - it bounced off its mount on a London road (always use a lanyard folks - silly of me but the mount always seemed so dependable).

I understand that the Etrex 20 has been replaced by the Etrex20x.

Which apparently has a somewhat improved screen.

And also twice as much internal memory.

But I understand that the processor, which can be slow, is the same.

Am wondering whether I can hang on a while, though will be tough as after being a doubter I have begun to really like GPSs.

Anyone any idea when Garmin might introduce a 20 with an improved processor?

I think the future lies with the eTrex Touch series. No idea on processor speed though

Ah, one of those dogmatic tech responses. I don't personally want a touch screen for reasons i won't clog the thread with. Back to the original question.ps - does the "improved" screen on the 20x take more power than the old 20?
