Same principal applies though, no? Would you be happy if something failed after just over two years and the manufacturer refused to do anything other than tell you to buy a replacement?

Keep the receipt. Dependent upon the circumstances we have tapered rights out to 6 years, 5 in Scotland, and it's the retailers problem.

Garmin specifically said 30% off a device from the same range. They don't do Oregons any more, so I asked if I could have 30% off an Etrex instead (the next range down from the Oregon). No, they said, but you can have 30% off a Montana. Now, Montana is the next range UP. As I don't want one of those (too expensive, not AA powered, features I don't want).

So they can keep that.
