4k at 30fps.At 12fps?
I would hold off until some people actually get their hands on them and give reviews. And i'm talking about real riders, not review sites.
Garmin are known for not having products ironed out when they release them.
Oops, yes the 30fps is the Hero 4 due out soon.Is that from an unreleased version as all I can see is 4k at max 15fps
Will be interesting to see how it copes in low light.FINALLY at last there's some footage on YouTube from a Virb.
I'm not technically minded but like for like seems to be as good as anything GoPro have up there. The GPS overlay stuff, integration with maps and remote control via say my Edge 810 make it a sure fire purchase over a (possible) 4k GoPro.
Waiting for a DCR review and the Elite to be released but I'm sure the Virb is a done deal for me. Was surprised to see that Amazon are already doing a 15% discount on the base model.
I think the 3+ release is so that GoPro just to have something new for Christmas, although as you say a very underwhelming release.Looks like GoPro have responded to the Garmin Virb with the release of a Hero black 3+ from what I've read so far underwhelming seems to some it up. Still on track to get an Elite.
GoPro seem to like releasing new camera's just before Thanksgiving and Christmas, so probably this time next year the Hero 4 will be released.Apologies didn't mean 'underwhelming' to be construed as a criticism as the Hero range is still a fine action camera but feel that Garmin has definately caught GoPro on the hop with Ant+ and GPS integration. Even if absolute resolution isn't quite a match for GP.
It also appears that rumours are saying 4k won't happen at 24p+ till at least next year.
I have entered competitions with Virb and GoPro Hero prizes and would be chuffed to win either.Anyone get a Virb? I'm thinking of getting one now.
