Hope Gaz doesn't mind me posting, but he's not been on here for a while, and this is on his blog.

Our man is on the Telly on 7th January 2013

As you know Gaz lost loads of weight on his own, but it did leave him with a fair amount of excess skin. Well, he couldn't get the NHS to help pay for it, so he looked up other ways of getting this done. One was to be on the 'embarrassing bodies' programme. Brave man.

What I do know is Gaz had the surgery back in early 2012, and they removed about 10lb of excess skin from him, and he recovered well from this. Anyway, his story is on this TV programme.

10lb! That's nearly a bike in it's own right!

All the best Gaz, hope things are improving for you

I've read the blurb on it and am wondering ... do I really need to watch it?

However, for Gaz, needing an alternative route when the NHS rejected him it's made sense. What makes less sense for the NHS is that he got on the bike to lose weight for an operation, then lost too much weight for it and now, having saved the NHS the operation cost, he couldn't have one to deal with the after-effects  . My wife's a Dietitian and she thought it odd too.

Either way, he's brave IMO, even if he gets to meet Dr Pixie.

I'll be fast-forwarding through any surgery scenes!

Gaz thought it was pretty unfair and I do too!

Just seen this on the telly, so came on to see if there was a thread. Well done Gaz, and I'm really glad you got the surgery you needed. It's a real shame the NHS didn't do it, considering the money you've saved them by losing all the weight.

Inspirational.
