I don't like Paul Hollywood, much but it must be a slow news day when headline news is of him dressed as a nazi at a fancy dress party 14 years ago, well before he had a media profile or was famous.

I appreciate that it is not the done thing to dress as a Nazi or black up in 2017, but times change. Thank god there arent photos of sily things i did in my past.

Just watched this week's Bake-Off. My god, they're ramping up the smut, aren't they? The oily finger chat, and the bit when Stacey stuck her fingers in her dough were borderline pornographic. And as for Julia's snail...

Don't get me wrong - I'm not complaining. It's good to see them bringing out the sensual side of baking. I guess this is one of the benefits of moving it to C4.

Also: judging by the glimpse I saw on the trailer, next week's technical challenge is Stroopwafels. Get in!

I like it. I prefer Prue Leith to Mary Berry, who always looked like she was too frail to be there. I love the Sandi Toksvig/Noel Fielding double act.

The challenges seem more interesting as well.

In fact, the whole 'clanger' task was a rich seam of mirth for anyone with the mind of a schoolboy.

Happy with that result, though overall I think the standard of bakers has been higher in the last couple of years.
