Here's mine:-

1j22j9.jpg

Hitachi 42 inch plasma HDTV: below that a Sky HD box and below that a Denon dvd player and amp.
To the right is a pc which I built myself a couple of years ago. It was a monster then, but I imagine its specs are pretty run-of-the-mill now. It is connected to the TV by VGA: no sound. I only use the pc these days because it has all my OS maps in the hard disk. In front of the pc is its wired keyboard and mouse.
To the left of the TV is my mac mini. which I use most of the time. It has my entire music collection in itunes and is connected to the TV by DVI and to the amp by optical digital audio. On the carpet right in front is its bluetooth keyboard and mighty mouse.
The printer is connected directly to the mac mini. The pc is not connected at all though heaven knows I've tried often enough to get it to print wirelessly through my home network
The Sky HD box is connected to the TV by HDMI and to the amp by optical digital audio.
The Denon dvd/amp is connected to the TV by component.
You can see the four front speakers of my 5.1 set-up.
All of this is controlled by a Logitech universal remote.

The whole set-up is not pretty and there's a pile of cables behind, but it does all integrate pretty well and works quite nicely:smile:

Let's see yours;)

I've got 2 computers, one's about 4 years old, the other's a crap old shitter I bought for about twenty quid daahn chezza. About a month ago I kept swapping bits between them and chopped and changed them about in an incessant effort to get linux working on one, and now i've got windows working on the crap mobo. While stable, neither are particularly fast or great for video, and neither have got a graphics card that works. I've got pretty much all the bike gear I want now so when i've next got a bit of money to splurge i might treat myself to a new one with dual quadcore processors, a super duper graphics card, sata disks and vista. well maybe not vista unless I have no choice.

My current computer at work was only £150 and it's (probably) loads better than either of them. And my computer in my new job will likely be umpteen times better.

What do you sit in? I'd want either an old barber's chair with a tray for the keyboard, or some kind if sit-in console, like the bottom half a dalek, to do justice to that superbly impressive set up.

Doesnt iTunes compress (or whatever) the music thus rendering your posh amp etc useless?

Well, that is an idea.

In actual fact, I have a sofa about seven feet in front. Using the computer(s), I sit on the floor with my back against the seat of the sofa. The mouses (mice?) glides easily over the carpet and , when I need them, the keyboards rest on my lap.
I sit on the sofa to watch TV.

Having the music on itunes is a compromise, but anything I want to listen to is easily found.
If I want true hi-fi, I find the particular cd and play it on the dvd player.
