I'm trying to buy summat from a German website and it keeps throwing up an error when checking out. I believe they're asking me to enter my CC verification code, but I've already done it. My card only has 3 digits on the back, but I know that some have 6. Do German online shops want the whole lot, because I don't have any more to provide?!

Its usually just the last three. Why don't you email or call them? Most Germans have good English.

Only open Mon-Fri.

Doesn't specify an amount of digits. Has a box for the CVV code, which I enter, then it asks Was ist eine kreditkartenprufziffer?

I've cleared out my basket in a huff now, but just noticed there's a Paypal option! Guess I'll start again...

Credit card authorisation number. Try a different card or call your card provider. It may be blocked by anti fraud software as an overseas site. If not, just contact the retailer tomorrow

Halifax Clarity credit card which is specifically for using abroad! I tried the CC payment again on another device and with a different card and it still didn't work, so it must be their end, not mine. The Paypal option worked fine, though. Just hope I don't end up with three lots of stuff now.

Actually, now I look at that German question again, it looks more like a mini FAQ, rather than a demand. It asks "what is a credit card check number" not "what is your credit card check number". I think it was their CC payment system not working now, not me being thick. The latter has been known to happen, but it's obviously very rare!
