Yes, possibly because countless pedestrians have read the Highway Code.Countless pedestrians step onto a zebra crossing knowing full well a car is travelling at 30+ mph, and expect the driver to notice them and stamp on the brakes!

Anyone else do this?
Youse are both bananas!nice idea but... the tricky bit is seeing them![]()

Is he really??Yebbut Adrian is well 'ard innit

By reading all the posts on the entire thread, reflecting on them, and then deciding.
Fairly straightforward process really.
You're clearly just another motorhead with a victim blaming mentality that rides a bike sometimes. Sigh.
I respectfully suggest that you may feel you are taking responsibility for your immediate actions, but you are not taking responsibility for the bigger picture and specifically how your actions impact on the bigger picture. Then you have understood nothing from my posts on this topic. I drive and I cycle, and as such I take responsibility for my actions when using the roads. One of which is to ensure I can be seen by other road users.
For someone to be run over at a zebra crossing, a whole series of events must have taken place, some complex , for it to culminate in pedestrian injury.
Youse are both bananas!
Should I see one (hopefully not crash into one) I would pedal away as fast as my wee legs let me, never mind offering lights.
Glesga in the twilight hours?![]()

I saw someone almost get run over on a zebra crossing just yesterday. They did absolutely nothing wrong: it was the clot behind the wheel who didn't trouble themselves to look. And this wasn't any ninja zebra crossing either, what with those BRIGHT FLASHING LIGHTS and the HI VIZ STRIPES on the road. Of course, said clot, when he was finally distracted from the thump-thump of the music he was playing, lent on the horn rather than the brakes. This isn't just about ninjas. You'll be hard pressed to find anyone on here who doesn't regard them as planks (and I'm being kind here). It's about the growing expectation that cyclists and pedestrians should dress up as pyschadelic lemons bedecked with the Blackpool Illuminations at all times in the hope that it might make a difference. Except, if they don't look, it doesn't make any difference. Sadly, there is no shortage of motorists who just don't bother looking.
Assuming, and I think it's a safe bet, none of us possess either a cloak of invisibility a la young Master Potter, or a cloaking device of Klingon, or even Singaporean, origin, under what circumstances might you, or me, or a ninja plank on a BSO, become invisible to other road users? Then you have understood nothing from my posts on this topic. Err... You did.Who said invisible? So you think riding at night, with no lights and dark clothes is a good idea?

Why is the car driver approaching a zebra crossing at 30+ mph? That's what I want to know. Or are the zebra crossings, and the pedestrians on them, products, and servants, of ninjatech inc.?Yes, possibly because countless pedestrians have read the Highway Code.
