How do you get away with cycling related spendings in regards to your BF/GF, husbands/wifes and/or Other Halves? Do you ever feel you need to, er, conceal a purchase, or remove a digit from the price (obviously not the last one..)???

I earn my own money so no need to justify my purchases to my girlfriend although I'm sure that will change when we get married next year :-)

It's simple. We are both adults. There is no hiding or concealment. That does not make for a happy marriage.
What she earns she can spend on what she likes.
What I earn I can spend on what I like.
We have a household account which we both pay into monthly which covers all the bills.

I tell her I need to buy something, she goes "how bloody much!!!!" I hold up the bag she spent 100 quid on the other day, convo ended lol
Seriously tho as has been said I don't see why there has to be a level of deceit ? That's not a good basis for a relationship in my opinion. I'd also bet that I'm most cases the non cycling partner won't have any problem spending money on summat they want lol

I would not consider it deceit, more of a need not to know.

Lol, to be honest they probably wouldn't notice , I put a back mudguard on the other day after not having one on for the last 7 year and she still hasn't noticed ;)

Oh the joys of doing what you want!

Guys and Gals of course, you need to spend within your own budget then it is not a problem.

I have mentioned elsewhere that I spent over £40k on photography gear in one year. I got a raised eyebrow, but no problem!

With regards to cycling I want to make sure I don't have 'all the gear, but no idea' so am taking my time over what I buy and don't buy.

I was talking to the guy in the Wales Archery shop near Chepstow, and he said they had a customer who spent a couple of grand a year on a new bow, but it was always blue so his wife never noticed!

 Lucky people!
I guess there are a few factors that make things better, such as your financial status, the percentage of contribution in the household income, the lifestyle of the other member(s) of the family..
I can't help but noticing that the "my earnings, my spendings" attitude is usually adopted by the male population (apologies if I'm stereotyping here..)!
