I've had quite a long spell off the bike, following crash, cold weather and general laziness.

I've started doing the last 13 km of my commute on bike; it hurts but hopefully I'll get some sort of form back...

i took seven minutes(ish) out of my previous time on the return leg, and my lungs are still clearing the gunk that accumulates during periods of low physical activity.
