Getting faster! (And wildlife)

Cyclogs is great!

I beat my best time home from work again today. When I started doing it reasonably regularly I was doing it in around 1 hour 5 minutes. Today was 57½ minutes, averaging 14.7 mph. It's faster on the way in as all the locks (my route's mainly on the canal) and other hills are down hill. That was just under 54 at 15.7 mph today which is within a minute of my best.

I passed 15 other cyclists today (although 3 were children on little BMXs and one was a guy with them who I assume's their Dad)

I also saw four rabbits, a heron and several swans this morning too which was nice. I must remember to keep an eye out for kingfishers - I saw one on the canal once when I was younger. Anyone else see any interesting wildlife on their commute?

Well done on upping your average, that bleedin cyclogs is addictive isn't it.
Don't see much wildlife in my way to work but as my window over looks the River Thames in Greenwich, I saw a grey Heron in the mudflats today. Have also seen seals before.

It is .. my current ambition is to get my average for a complete week above 14mph, then to do it for a month. I'm sat on 13.99 for the current week ..

As for wildlife, I get to see quite a few bunnies, foxes every now and then and I did once get shadowed by an owl for a hundred yards or so on the way home in the winter which was quite a surreal sensation. And I heard a cuckoo this morning ..

i think squirrels are pretty common at the moment lol. Sounds like a good ride

There are Muntjacs in Solihull and I sometimes see one on my trip to work.

My GF said they are nicknamed the "Barking deer". I said its walked a long way from East London.

I see a few of those sometimes too, also the odd Hare, loads of rabbits, Herons, Buzzards, Green Woodpeckers and Peacocks.

When i used to go through Belbroughton somebody in one of the big houses had a load of Llamas, as you do.
