At 49 I should have a few (medical ) things wrong with me. If I do, I'm blissfully unaware, as I never go to the doctor's, because I don't have time to get aches and pains investigated, because I can't be bothered, because they will go away eventually, because I'd rather drop while I feel ok ....

Me wife said to me last night, she said, 'Paul, will you still love me when I get old?' and I said, 'Go on love, you get 'old and I'll tell yer.'

My mother-in-law, she's so fat....

Always?

I'd live to live long if I stay well and active. Any sign of that not being the case, and I'd rather shuffle off.

It's not getting old that sucks, it's being unwell.

My sentiments exactly, as long as I'm fit and healthy long may life continue, if my physical or mental state, or both, gets to the stage where I'm a burden on my family and I've no quality of life, with little or no hope of improvement, then I would rather shuffle off this mortal coil than continue.
I'm 60 years young now and on low dose Aspirin and Symvastatin. I had angina in 2008, had my arteries cleared and stents fitted, earlier this year I had major problems with the water works, I needed two operations and leaned heavily on my family while I was ill, events like those tend to change what you think is important in life and make you appreciate it more when your health and fitness returns.
