I'm in a good mood tonight so I thought I'd begin my festering festive season now!

I just did my Good Samaritan bit for an old lady I know who is stranded down in town at her daughter's house. Buses and taxis can't get up the hill to where she lives and the pavements and roads are too treacherous for her to walk. I went up to switch her heating on and fetch her mail for her.

There were a few gangs of teenagers hanging about as I walked back down the hill and I really thought I was going to get bombarded but they didn't bother. Perhaps it was the Black Look of Death I gave them as I went past! ;)

Its a pain in the a***, I got snowballed three times on the way home from work. I suppose I should expect it with a finish time of 6:45, they are all fed a watered and hanging about on the streets by then, but its not funny at the end of a busy shift when you just want to get home.

It is just a bit of fun...UNLESS it is at moving traffic, in which case it can cause serious accidents.
I've just been bombed by a group of girls while I was clearing a path out the front. Returned fire, had a giggle and no harm done.

A splat on the windscreen out of nowhere, or in the face on the bike could easily cause loss of control and subsequent injury.

Can't complain - I went through the local scrubby estate last night (have been doing so to get to part of the Trans Pennine) and have been expecting it for a few days.... snowballs are mild compared to knifing and mugging - Brinnington for the locals......

A bunch of kids outside their house, elevated position, lobbed about 5 or so at me, all missed so I shouted 'argh you missed'....... Had some others try a few shots a few hundred yards further on.... all missed.

Got hit a few times last year, some from point blank, but only hit from behind, and bounced off the rucksack.

Funny when on foot, bally dangerous when on the bike! I nearly ended up under a bus at the start of the year due to in-coming fire.

Yeah, funny only up to a point, and if the perpertrators are very little kids (or adults, but in a fully consensual situation - apparently, they called all the buses back in mid-yesterday morning, and the drivers were having a snowball fight in Rougier Street where the terminus is).

A really snowball in the side of the face is not fun, especially if you're riding.

We're so glad we're not collecting round Tang Hall any more.

When you're cycling = not funny.

When you're not expecting it (whilst cycling or walking) = not funny.

Some kids tried it with me, missed and probably didn't expect me to do anything - but I turned around and went straight for them.

I'm with the not funny brigade. I've had kids throw snowballs at me whilst I was driving through a residential street. It made an almighty bang when it hit the car and made me jump, and that was with me expecting it as I clocked them looking suspicious. I can imagine some some people not expecting it and swerving with fright. Recipie for disaster. Mutual snowballing fair enough, otherwise I class it as assault.

No snow here so not a problem! Well there's some sad looking thin patches in places, and icy side roads but bugger all snow really. Shame- although I'm 42 and a quarter - I still love snow. Sighs, taps fingers and looks up at clear sky in anticipation
