The guy in the white locks up and the bike squirms but he makes it round. The fourth guy was going way too fast, you can see his back wheel lift as he tries to stop, If the car wasn't there to stop him then he would have been over the cliff!

Blimey - I read about the original cycling fatality and the coach crash a month or two back when searching for information about a similarly dangerous blackspot - Greenhow Hill, Pateley Bridge (which unfortunately has just cost the life of another cyclist).

Looking again, you're right. White jersey guy has definite rear wheel wobble under braking.

The guy left his braking far too late, they were working OK judging by his back wheel being a good foot off the ground at one point.

Another 2 guys went down after hitting a 'marshals' motorcycle that had stopped in the middle of the road.
Glad to hear he's not that seriously injured.

According to GtiJ, who knows how to find out stuff on the web, the story is that the organisers didn't warn the riders about the hairpin bend on the descent.
