Giant lifetime frame warranty

Has anyone had any experience with a frame replacement with Giant

I had my bike serviced (by a giant rep) and the part where the front mech is screwed into the frame is damaged (the lug has fallen out of the frame)

They are going to ask for a new frame from Giant


Anyone know how long this will take?

I've not experience with Giant, only Focus TBH which is of no help.

Although I have heard that Giant have a tendency to get rather wriggly with their 'lifetime' frame warranty.

There was a thread not too long ago about a Giant warranty on a top end bike. Got sorted IIRC but can't recall the name of the poster

I guess with all such things, patience and keeping on top of the process

A guy I know from Carterton had the same problem as you he just got a new bike from Giant no hassle even got to keep the old bike so sold the groupset off don't know how long it took though

frame sent to Giant who are planning to either repair or replace it

Had a problem with my old commencal frame but was exchanged by distributor I don't know how people can squabble if there is a fault with something they've sold. Hope it's a replacement frame will be nice and shiny

finally found out today after 18 days they are going to repair my frame rather than replace it.

now i just have to wait for them to order the part to do it and they expect i will get the frame back in a further 14 days

thinking this will be the last giant i will buy for a while


might buy a chinese frame to have some fun with over the winter

No, my work is in no way associated with bikes, other than I commute on one time and weather permitting

There was another thread which may have helped at the time of the OP, nothing else. Patience and keeping on top of the process goes for any kind of dispute

I wrote my Giant TCX frame of when I hit a "Deer" last spring .
E mailed Giant and they replaced it at cost to the ike shop where I bought it from within 3 days for cost price £175.
Good service from a good company in my opinion.

I am not the type of chap to
(a) tell lies or

but your comment is bordering on the offensive.
Cycling to work sping morning down here http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?hl=e...w=179&start=0&ndsp=27&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:0,i:88 as you can see wood land on either side odf the road, I was going about 25 mph the deer jumped out of the woods right in front of me within a split second it shot across the road an I hit its hind quarters.
Shaking like a leaf I checked the front wheel and forks, nothing wrong, set of to work , a further 15 miles.
Putting the bike in the shed I noticed paint peeling of the down tube , the impact had travelled through the wheel,and fork and crumpeld the down tube.
So there you are.

It was how you put "deer" in inverted commas that threw me! I assumed it was a euphemism for something else! Punctuation is an extremely powerful tool, especially when used in a less than conventional way! Apologies!
