Well after alot of looking into what bike I want, I have decided that a hybrid bike would best suit me as I don't like the low slung down position you get on a road racer and I don't need to be anywhere fast in a hurry.

Its come down to two bikes; both the same price at £399:

1. Giant Escape 3 2014
2. Pinnacle Lithium 2 2014

Dunno which one, both are new so its hard to find a review.

What do you lot think?

Any help would be most appreciated to a newbie.

You're not comparing the same price point though.

Out of the two you've posted, I'd have the Pinnacle, but the Escape 2 is the same price as the Pinnacle and would then be the better choice IMO (and a bit lighter)

The Escape is based on a road frame with flat bars, the Pinnacle looks MTB based.

Aaaah, the penny's just dropped!

Incidentally the Escape would be more akin to a cyclocross bike with flat bars than a road bike. Rapid is Giant's flat bar roadster.

Anyway I'd take the Escape every time over the Pinnacle.

I am just wondering which is the better bike. I have never heard of either really, just a few people have mentioned Giant.
Giant are one of the biggest manufacturers around (if not THE biggest). They manufacture frames for many other brands too and their bikes are highly regarded and good value for money. Pinnacle is Evans own brand, but also does well in magazine tests.
