I remember that stuff. I don't know whether it was an urban myth, but word was that lubes like GT85 and WD40 dissolved the paint.

I like these old mountain bikes. I have a couple of old Saracens and a Bontrager. As someone up thread said they make a good all rounder.

View attachment 141799 I've alwaysys had a soft spot for these old non sus MTBs. There're pretty much a do it all bike, will take a rack for touring, narrower tyres for commuting or just a run arounds said it is. Would have though the Deore was OE.

You might have seen this before but bought this Trek here not so long ago for a friend. Carbon tubes and Ali lugs, unbelievably light. Also last week I acquired a nineties Claude Butler "Trail Rider" for the kids, similar layout.

Crikey !!!,how the hang did I miss this ?
I might be wrong, but I would consider this to be a very rare thing.
Look after it,it's a real lovely carbony ally beaut ^_^:becool:

Did you hear that thump?

That was my jaw hitting the deck. Pics please.

I'll take some at the weekend.

As much as I don't have a particular like for Giants, this grows on me the more I view it.
It would be a real challenge to find original parts for it,but by the looks of it,it doesn't need anything changing just yet.
That can only be a good thing.
Got to get me some Gumwalls,I think Onza do a good pair

i like some of the giants from this era mainly due to the paint schemes

from further research it looks to be std oem spec at time

and is now being used by my brother in law to be

I think the paint job is what does it for me too @biggs682
Just so in line with the early 90's fascination for garishness ^_^
And in total contrast to our Bear Valley's you would agree .
It's a solid frame too,and,dare I say it,could be modernised.
