Similar experince a year later when i wrote to hospital chief exec asking him to pass on my thanks to a male nurse on the kids ward who had been so good to same daughter with a broken wrist. He too said praise letters are very rare
True, I've had 3 '"thankyou" letters in 20 years, & still remember the reasons why (I'm 'shop-floor' NHS)


Saying thank you is far more valued than any gift. And lasts longer than any material gift.

Agreed, hand-written card/letter, maybe backed up with Wine/Chocs?

It might also be worth sending a letter/card/email to their boss/CEO/HR person to ensure they also know how good work these 2 people & how much it has meant to you.
