Looks like Jacopo Mosca lost a bet with Mads P on stage 1....

He's not the first to lose a bet with Mads, there's a Danish journalist, Anders Mielke (you see him doing stuff in English on Eurosport/its replacement sometimes) who had to get Mads P's name tattooed on him after a stage win in the TdF

Mads to just hang on for the climb and get back on for the run in...
... or a breakaway given that Rog surely won't want to be in pink too long?
Or something else!

Rog is giving it away for deffo. Tom Pidcock could get a stage win here if he had the right group around him down the mountain.

Breakaway Bingo !
Send Mads in the break and let him try and take seconds at intermediate.
Bookies have Mads as the favourite for today's stage but I can't see him winning today to be honest.
Rogla....
"We will see, huh"

Will be interesting to see how Lidl-Trek play it early on. I think it's probably too early in the race to put Mads in the break, too many teams with fresh riders that will be interested in the stage win. But he might want the bonus seconds - and the intermediate points - if he can get them, so they might keep things very tight.

I can see Pidcock or Pello Bilbao (who is far from the worst on a TT bike, plenty of GT top tens, but came in a loooong way down, so well rested) doing an up and over. Looks like there are about 30km of flattish roads after the final descent to catch anybody on

Lol...could of quite easily stayed in bed myself today...
Start of stage three of the Giro d'Italia is delayed because Primoz Roglič has gone missing. And, well, obviously, the race can't start without its leader. "Primoz, please come to the start, please," calls the PA announcer - again.

It’s dress like your grandad day on The Breakaway today apparently. Blythe wins the award but good efforts by the others.

Ayuso having his radio retuned and I don’t blame him based on the music that seemed to be coming from it.

Tough start with riders fighting to hang on. Ineos very keen to get riders up the road and Tarling has opened a gap with 3 others.

Break has 30” but not pulling out, a couple of potato hunters going nowhere and Marcellus trying for a third time as it looks like the peloton has had enough for now.. nope, thinning out again!

Looks to be settled. Break has 1’ 30” with the chasers stuck at 30”. I guess it will depend if the front 4 fancy having two extra bodies to help now whether they manage to bridge.
