Seems the last few days have involved riders getting in the early break who are being carefully watched by the GC teams. And therefore being inevitably brought back.

Surely they know that their efforts are doomed? Do they have a more subtle plan, or just hoping that a miracle happens and no one notices until it is too late?

It was a harsh decision... Arbitrary. That said if the stage hadn't been stopped by insane mudslides bernal wasn't coming back imo

After all of that, Taco is still at 48'01", same as after stage 5. Classic Giro communication issues
I only checked because I thought it would be a seriously weird thing to do - to declare the race over in GC terms at a random spot, but to give the two in the break their gap as a result.
