Interesting to see if Roglic's team can play off that dynamic. Certainly Adam Yates is in service to his team mates while his brother Simon is looking in a good place.

Being away, I hadn’t realised that tomorrow
they climb the beast.
Alpe San Pellegrino almost decided the outcome of the 2000 Giro and it was climbed in the first half of the race.
With the modern peloton, it’s a pity it’s tackled so early in the stage. Still, it will do a lot of damage and probably shape the stage.

What the race needed

I agree 100%. Great stage planning to have the ITT after the gravel stage to possibly undo some of the mishaps. Roglic can still win, but has to actually try for more than just bonus seconds, which should make the race a much better viewing experience for all of us.
