New break of five at 45" isn't nearly as strong, but does contain noted peloton-confuser Kasper Asgreen - famous for taking the break to the finish two days in a row in the Tour in '23 (he won the first - with the peloton noted at same time, Mohoric won the second)

It didn't look like everyone was satisfied with the break composition, but in the time it took to write this everything calmed down and the gap went out to 1' 25"
OK, it took a major crash, but even Van Aert couldn''t take more than a few seconds ut of him

The weather playing its part this year...much like most other years!

remember Kruiswijk ...

Straight into a snow drift .... He was an appalling descender though
