While I understand Landa's crash and injury get more attention, also spare a thought for Bouchard who was involved in the incident as well. He suffered multiple fractures, notably to the collar bone and the first three lumbar vertebrae, so those directly below the vertebrae Landa injured. Bouchard was aiming for stage win, not impossible since he won the Giro KOM in 2021 and the Vuelta KOM in 2019.

I was thinking to choose Vine for the PTP, I felt the course with that hill would suit him. But as he was also involved in the Landa incident, I decided not to, in case the few knocks he must have got yesterday affect his performance today.

I'm not sure Mads will be all that easy to shake out of pink, Wout obviously the best chance to do it if he's on his game, but Mads rides a decent TT, especially when it's short like this.
