They still have to finish the stage. Much easier if riding in a group.

Quicker, I suppose. I think they'll all start dropping off now - no point in risking it if the team has no sprinter.

I don't think this is right.
GC completely neutralised, no time taken, but the break were started out again with their advantage intact.
Points also neutralised, so the only thing on the line is the stage win itself. Even the OTL cut has been dropped.
