This has buggered up @ColinJ's mnemonic for telling the Yates brothers apart.

Simon won in Spain (... er ... and Italy)

Come on, it's easy. United Adam Yates, Simon Lease-a-bike

Like not marking the world's best midfield player!

Why didn't UAE see the danger if him being up the road, such an engine was a gift for Yates!

Perhaps De toro doesn't have either the racing nouse or the pog esq desire to win no way would pog allow that to happen. He'll win a stage even if the gentlemanly thing to do is to gift it to another stage hunting rider....

He's only 21. We can question his endurance over 3 weeks (currently) and we can question UAE tactics. The former will develop and the latter isn't his fault.

I don't follow pro racing that closely, but a surprise to read on BBC that Simon is only the second British rider to win multiple Grand Tours.

It's not that long ago that there were zero British GT winners.
Chris Froome being the first with the 2011 Vuelta.

Only if you believe the riders are just robotics, you can question the tactics and claim what happened wasn't his fault.

Also the first British GT winner for 5 years, which in recent history is a lot, but obviously not long at all in the overall history of British GT racing.

No one. Its only since 2012 were we in the game of GT wins. Froome/Sky were the dream combo. Yates went to 2018 Vuelta with something to prove and was the strongest rider there. Since 2020(?) its been Roglic/Jonas and Pog
