Going out for breakfast

I go out for breakfast only when staying at hotels which charge an exorbitant sum for the meagre breakfast that I require:smile:.
Same here. £7-10 for a croissant and a cuppa.

These were our Nemesis on Vancouver Island a few years ago. Early one morning, driving south down Highway 19 along the 90 km to Departure Bay, we felt peckish and dropped into Ricky's Diner in Parksville. It proved to be an expensive breakfast. The service was a bit slow and the portions were gigantic, leaving us precious little time to get to our ferry once we got back in the car. The highway was completely empty so I got a bit flexible with the speed limit until an imposing 6'4" Mountie stepped out into the road from under a bridge 300 yards ahead. He had a radar gun. Ten minutes later I had a piece of paper to present to a government office in Vancouver in exchange for my £90.

It was a good breakfast though. Ms slowmotion had waffles, maple syrup, strawberries and aerosol cream in amongst her bacon and hash browns.

(BTW, they really don't know how to do sausages over there.)

Sausages are often the downfall. Am very wary of many caff tubes, had some appalling noxious things. The spoons ones aren't nasty atvall, just bland, hence my customary swapping for bacon. Harder to adulterate bacon.

When out in Montana on a fly fishing trip a few years ago, it got to the stage where neither I or the friend I was over there with could face another mahoosive breakfast, so we stopped off at a petrol station to pick up a quick pre-packaged sandwich.

Note the mandatory inclusion of a thin slice of cheese-like substance. Cheese is not a flavour over there - just a texture.

Possibly. I'm a great fan of spoons for several reasons. But that's not a balanced diet day in and out and I think spoons would say the same. What the hell does he have for lunch? Might be time to get him under an x ray, caution him.

He doesn't have lunch, he just eats morning & night at Spoons! ^_^ No point in me saying anything, like most people I work with, he smokes like a trooper too.
