Just a thought , is this pal a drinker? Booze depletesB12 very quickly.

Due to cancer I had to have lots of of colon removed, including the specific bit of it which absorbs B12 from food, apparently I cannot get it on food, whatever I eat ... my B12 levels are tested annually, so's I can have injections if needed .... however, 7 years after the op I still have no shortage and no need for injections ... B12 recycles in the body pretty well for lots of ppl, apparently, but booze is a demon. I do not drink alcohol at all ...
That's interesting - thanks. No booze for this pal. Coffee is about as strong as it gets.

Obviously not that then! Must be some other reason their stock is depleted, but I would not set it up as an inevitable problem for vegetarians ...

I ate almost nothing during that time, lost about 3 kilos, and the worst effect it's had on me is to completely reboot my attitude to food. I just can't face meat or fish in any form.

Given the choice I'd just eat fruit, but I'd waste away if I did that, so I'm trying to compensate by eating lots of cottage cheese and yoghurt.

And even the thought of beer is revolting, let alone the smell.[/QUOTE]
