Apparently it's been outed as a fake, but who knows, so have the moon landings!

Have you ever had a Bonxie fly at you at eye level? Now that is quite scary. They do it to attack the top of your head when you stray into a nesting area. They will draw blood! Clever me poked the end of my telescope tripod up higher than my head. Being thick they went for that. But a pair of eyes staring at you from a big bird and heading right at you does make one tighten some bits of one's anatomy

The swan thing is an urban myth, I thought?
...about the arms anyway - it's backs! A swan can break your back, just by looking at you!

Pretty much the hardest creatures on the planet, aside from honey badgers, of course.

rubbish... Coots. Coots will attack anything. speaking to the woman who monitors one pair of Peregrines in London and she said none of the London birds had shown signs of eating Coots... moorhens, woodcocks, kingfishers, but not coots.

we put this down to 2 factors - a moorhen is more likely to fly up when spooked, a coot will dive and, more importantly, a coot would attack the falcon.

coots, nasty blighters

I think Bill Bryson summed up Australia by saying it's a beautiful place; it's just a shame everything there is trying to kill you!

and the most dangerous animal there is..... the horse.

more people die from horse related injuries than any other animal inflicted injury. we use that at the wetland centre education events when people ask about 'killer snakes' and the like. QI recently used it too.

And as for those "old coots" - watch out - elbows, brollies you name it. Tangle with them and it'll be A&E for you

Yeah, I was dubious before I looked at the video, and dubious afterwards. Doesn't quite look like a golden eagle to me, but I've only seen them on telly. (having googled though, maybe my idea of them is askew.)

WIkipedia say they'll take foxes and maybe lambs - those are quite a bit lighter and smaller than a toddler.

But they forget to mention that all horses in OZ have a fleet of spiders under the saddle.
