Yes,but not much this year.
Have been a club member for 5 years but decided to have a bit of a break from it,played 2-3 times a week all year round and have got a bit fed up with it now, have had 3 games in the whole year so far.

iranuk- Then anyone who cycles AND plays golf must be completely insane!

Potsy- Sorry to hear that, any reason behind it? Just got bored? Playing badly? Too much time?

I used to be a member whilst at school, untill I went off for my gap year, then Uni got in the way... I've recently got back into it, getting back to playing of a handicap of 15, which I know is nothing special, but i hope to get it down over the next 2 months

I have a 3 wood and muck about on a driving range from time to time but thats about it.

I would have bought a driver, but it was £20 more.

Just a bit fed up with it really, started cycling in April and the golf took a back seat for a while, then when it came time to renew membership I'd been put on a 4 day week so couldn't commit nearly £900 to it not knowing how things were going to turn out at work.
Planned to have a few games this year but the enthusiasm just isn't there now, maybe it'll come back one day,
Was playing Ok got my handicap down to 17,and am going on a 3 day golf trip to Wales in a few weeks so maybe that will kick start the passion again.
Where do you play Darkstar?

Thats understandable, it does seem to be a game which is reliant on emotions and feelings, if you are not feeling positive about the game, it only makes things harder. I'm playing at northamptonshire County golf club at the moment, cracking course. Where do you usually play?

Am still on the books at Denton golf club in Tameside but was playing a lot of doubles comps all over the North west, closest course is Altrincham which is a public one.

Surprisingly no, as there are 8 courses in my town - 4 within 2 miles of each other. I cycle around 6 of them every night and provide a usefull moving target for the golfers it seems.

I live near to my local club but I don't play either.

Naw, I do Curling in the winter instead, and what's more, I am a member of my local team, so I am scheduled for games throughout the season representing my town!

I was one of the madmen (and woman ...and Children) out playing on the Lake of Menteith in January there ....with a few drams inside of me by the end of the day

Oh yes, I can say that I have walked across that Lake (the only Lake in Scotland I hasten to add) to Inchmahome Priory and Dog Island just behind it!

I wonder how many people in the future will be able to say that?:becool:
