Drove to Heathrow this afternoon expecting to meet a flight arriving at 18:45. Delayed connections meant they landed @ 22:20.

Out in sunshine. Back in rain, spray & gusts. The forecast was spot on - whether a wet and windy day in late August is 'severe' is another question.

Mudguards on, fairly wet. A couple of very heavy showers on the way in but I think it's good practise before it gets really horrendous and dark, wet and windy in November.

It's batten down the hatches time here in the North East, it's not raining just yet, but from a bright start this morning, it's become very overcast and grey in the last half hour and getting darker by the minute   there's no wind, but you can just sense there's going to be a deluge very soon.
