Think I'm going to build my own bike stand for general maintenance and repairs.
Currently my bike hangs from the ceiling in the front room whenever I need to tinker with it.... I'm obviously quite happy with this set up but SWMBO is opposed to this :stop:
Lots of different vids on YouTube to get me started

Anyone made their own ?

Post a pic of it, if you have. I'd be interested to see them.

Yes. Made it about a year or so ago. Just offcuts from my workshop. Needed a stand in a hurry, always intended to make a deluxe version but never got round to it and kind of like its simplicity so there may never be a deluxe version.
You got bigger pictures so I can zoom in and have a look. I already have a bike stand but I might copy your model, practice my woodworking skills

I did this one with some steel square section and a couple of old spindles.

Cost me less than £20

I need one for my recumbent, so must have a think about what modifications I will need from these ideas.

One of biggest difficulties is being able to turn the pedals while needing to stand by/behind the rear wheel, eg when sorting cassette and gears. Pedals are miles away ! ^_^

A 5 foot cane taped to a pedal has worked for me in the past in just that situation
