Yep front carbon fork snapped on easy jet flight, repaired with what looked like carbon/fibre glass/ Kevlar repair tape or such like? No idea what the damage was underneath or if it was a complete break. But would you trust it?

Apparently as it was not discovered straight away, easy jet would not cover the cost of a replacement. Bike was boxed for transport.

F1 teams regularly use Carbon fibre repair tapes on suspension components.

There are some serious bits of obvious damage there. If a steel fork looked like that after a crash, I'd be walking home.

I wouldn't trust carbon fibre again after my front forks snapped on impact with a moving car. Would i trust a patched up version of my front forks? No way!

F1 teams manufacture their own components and hence understand the strength characteristics of the weave.
I wouldn't trust the fork, though no am a weighty old heiffer. I'd also have PoxyJet off to the small claims court.
