Quiet is good

When riding my bike or trike, I hate noise. Here is a tip on how to make you bike quieter. I carry a trunk pack on my rear rack, and on a bare rack stuff bangs against the hard bottom of the trunk pack. Go to a store that sells soft rubber foam, and cut a piece or two the size of your trunk pack, depending the the thickness, and put it on the rack, then set the trunk pack on top of it. You will be amazed how much quieter it makes your ride.

I agree about those noises. Thanks for the reminder!

I ride with a single pannier on one of my bikes and I noticed it rattling on my last few rides. I had meant to investigate, but had forgotten to...

A quick check just now revealed that the rear clamp was about 1 cm too far back. I have now adjusted it and all seems well. I will test it out on the road tomorrow.

The bike was much quieter. My test route included cobbled sleeping policemen and a descent on a road with a terrible surface. Thanks for the reminder to fix the problem!
