Good deeds that you have done..........with/without reward

Whilst walking my dog in deepest countryside I found a 2 metre model aircraft that was fitted out for autonomous aerial photographic surveying work, several thousand pounds worth. It had an owners plate so I called the number and they sent a lad in a van around to collect it. It had been sent out on a test flight around 20 miles away and had not returned. RC model aircraft is another of my hobbies and I was idly contemplating how I might spend my reward................which turned out to be a "thankyou". Better than a poke in the eye with a pointed stick I suppose ;-)

I have fostered and adopted quite a few wee homeless kittens over the last (almost 30 years) .
Have kept a few over the years and let some go to their new homes.
My reward has been to see some scrawny, flea infested, frightened little ones grow up into healthy happy cats.
There were only two who I couldn't tame well enough for rehoming, so I kept them.
I think I've had more from all these wee guys than I ever gave them though .

I've stopped and changed a car wheel for someone who was obviously struggling, helped people out when they were really stuck emotionally and financially,i have lived my life trying to do right by people, never asked for or wanted anything in return. I reckon it's just the christian thing to do (I'm not religious) or perhaps fate had it all planned out that way , who knows?????
I'm great believer in karma, live your life right and reap the rewards, do wrong and karma will eventually get you.

I haven't done any - I'm a miserable bastard at the best of times - but I have been a beneficiary...

We were having building work done, which is how I came to be walking around with several hundred quid in a back pocket. Got to the bar, and I was just ordering my pint when a guy came up next to me and said to the barman 'I just found this on the mat on my way in'. I glanced around and he was holding out a thick wedge of twenties. I blurted out 'that's mine!; and clearly my explanation was persuasive, because he handed it over without a quibble.

A double like and a hug from another cat lover (we've got 3 rescued cats one of which decided to come and live with us after her owner split from her partner and Fifi was temporarily living with a relation who was a neighbour of ours whist they looked for someone to adopt her)
Our other 2 were kittens when we got them....................................................5 cat household here.

Found a purse in a club we were members of. Handed it in at the bar, thought no more of it.
Next time we were in the barmaid gave us a handwritten thank you letter from the purses owner.
There had been around £30 in the purse and the letter was written in pencil, very child like. The lady had learning difficulties but had to decency to write us a really lovely letter.

We are down to one cat and two german shepherds now, we did have two cats but our big ginger tom had to be pts a few years ago due to cancer, the other moggie is now 17+ years old and stone deaf but still going strong, both cats were strays that we rescued.

Cats are very clever at choosing suitable servants, Fifi obviously had you sussed .

The vet refused any payment and thanked us for helping him save her.

We only found out after she'd spent the night at ours and Maz went 'doorknocking' to find out who's kitten she was. Turned out that she was 8 months old but had already had a litter of kittens herself which they had found homes for but no-one wanted to adopt the mum. We've got a cat flap so she permanently has access to 'outside' but still chooses to live here.
Not the first time this has happened, we had a 'wall-eyed white' tomcat (one pink and one blue eye) who moved in and stayed for 16yrs. Still miss 'Whitey' now (named after the Persil 'you can get tablets for that' advert cos he was a right 'muckypup' when he moved in.)

But saved several lives, including one person twice, two years apart and two complete strangers within 24 hours of each other

Many years ago, when my son was a young football player, I used to give lifts home to this young mother and her kids. My wife thought I might have other intentions lol I said, if one day I'm not around then I'd like somebody to be kind and help you. Eventually, I think my wife believed me. I think the lady wasn't too sure of me at first either lol.

Once. my wife and I took our daughter to Southampton hospital for an allergy test..... as we where paying for the car park, my wife found on the floor a wallet full of money. For a moment we wondered what to do and then my daughter came to the rescue she saw a lady with a child on a buggy leaving the pay station just before us. We run in the direction our daughter saw the lady go. We found her and asked if she lost something and she looked underneath the buggy and found the handbag but not wallet. She started going hysterical that she had just taken the money out for the Xmas presents....... my daughter handed over the wallet and the lady was so happy that she wanted to give my daughter £20 but daughter said it was not necessary. I felt the lesson was worth a lot more

I'm always willing to help others if I can. My father was a lawyer and he had half a day a week dedicated to work for people that couldn't afford a lawyer. In reality I'm sure he spent a lot more time than half a day a week I hope I have taught my children something too.
