Ok there's a lot of ppl out there new to cycling or returning after many years me included and confidence may be an issue on dark commutes so is this a waste of time or could it help . Also its a more familiar sight to a motorist so they may spot it over a hand signal anyways just asking for your thoughts on it and hopefully it isn't posted elsewhere

Dig up some of the old threads on bicycle signal, thery're mostly negative.

The meaning of a flashing arrow on a bicycle is not defined. These things could be deadly if somebody misreads their intent.

Tbh, sticking your arm out shows your intention... If you can't stick your arm out when riding..

I don't think much of those, but with the number of drivers I encounter that don't understand hand signals I often wonder if perhaps a good set of indicators would be an improvement.

Gimmick. Complete rubbish. Avoid.
It's been posted on CC many times.
It will never catch on, and it shouldn't catch on.
There is nothing wrong with an arm signal.

Some of my customers would benefit from a decent set of indicators. Those with only one arm for example.

The ones which are the subject of the OP are lees than ideal because the orange flashing lights arent far away enough from the centre line to guarantee that another road user would know which direction is being indicated. The use of chevron shaped lights is an attempt to fix this - but it introduces more confusion. Orange arrows on a motorway tell you which side to overtake. Squish.
