I am a bit disappointed that he was such a good driver as it's a gorgeous day now and it'd have been good fun to go and play out instead.

It was extra fun today i must admit even after the roads were gritted it made no difference ! Still got in work first so cyclists are more productive than motorists :becool:

Main roads were bad this morning, and are now. We towed the kids to school on sledges...parked them in the bike shed...:becool: off to collect them again in an hour via sledge. We had a sneaky go on the hill near our house on the way home........

Son got 10 extra house points for being at karate for 8.00am....

Yes. No problems at all. Much prefer this to the warm and wet weather.

Football is off tonight, though. Means I'll be giving blood in my civilian clothes rather than astro boots and tracky bottoms, though.

Bring it on  i have never had so much fun on ice and snow, going past peds who are holding onto anything that will stop them falling, with a look on their face that translates in Jockanese as yourareafookingnutter going out on a bike in this ;)

Managed to survive the slush/ice combo tonight with lower pressure in the knobblies on the mtb, hard work but felt better on the grip front.Only down side was i had to ride further out in already narrow roads but most motorists were good and kept back until it was safe.Car park was empty today until mid morning and nearly all the drivers were late but could not get in becasue the security stumps were frozen solid ;)

Glad I went in the car today, roads at 7am were pretty shocking to be honest, better coming home after the cars had cleared a path.
Is there no grit left in Stockport, didn't seem to have been done at all:sad:

Too true, just like that 'round our way as well. I've finished for xmas, but couldn't resist getting out on the mtb this morning and I'm glad I did, it's been about the most enjoyable ride I've had. It was sooo much fun..

Secondary to the riding was the look on peds faces as I went past...

Mr Summerdays took the car today in an admission of defeat ... his route is several miles of off road cycle path so decided it just wasn't worth the risk. He had real problems in the car literally 2 corners away from our house and our neighbours in front had to be pushed around the corner ... not nice out there.

Meanwhile my Mum is meant to be coming back from my sisters to pick up her car and drive to London.... doesn't sound too good for that journey either.
