Good with heights?

Turned my stomach over watching that. I have no head for heights, in fact in my avatar picture i'm in a cable car going over the Great Orme in Llandudno, not very high and i'm putting on my bravest face

My younger son erects Pylons for the National Grid. He says that once you are over about 30' you stop worrying about going any higher as from 30' or 300' if you fall you are dead. The safety lines they use mean you would need to fall, and the lines would need to fail for you to fall anyway so he doesn't worry. There again he has always had a head for heights, while I haven't, although in my younger days I did a bit of rock climbing. These days I'm confined to the ground due to uncertain balance.

He could do with a new pair of steelies, not that it would make much of a difference if he plummeted 3 million feet to the ground mind.

I'm with you, can't do heights at all.
Funnily enough, although I love water, the sense of crossing very deep water gives me slight feelings of vertigo. When you go over the edge of a reef on a small boat and the depth drops away from 6' to 130'+ it makes me feel a little giddy until I've got used to it. No sense in that whatsoever!

I remember watching Phillippe Petit do his tightrope walk between the World Trade Centre towers more than 40 years ago. The photo of him laying on his back, in the middle if the rope, unharnessed, with his pole balanced on his belly and a backdrop of skyscrapers hundreds of feet below still gives me the willies.

I seem to recall one of CC's intellectual types starting a thread on this a while back - oh yes, here it is.
