Sad news. John Challis who we all remember for his wonderful acting in Fools and Horses has died aged 79 after a long battle with cancer. He was also remembered for his part the sitcom Benidorm.

Apparently he was recently made a honorary citizen of Serbia where Only Fools & Horses is hugely popular.

One of the things that made OFAH so great IMO was that all the supporting characters were also superb.

John Challis was great as Boycie made a great double act with Marlene.

That’s Trigger’s broom. Aka Roger Lloyd Pack.
He died a few years ago.

I always remember him for another role - the villainous henchman Scorby in the Tom Baker Dr Who serial 'The Seeds of Doom'.
Ironically, born in Bristol his most famous role was Londoner Boycie and although set in Peckham, London....it was filmed a lot in his home town of Bristol.

RIP. What a wonderful actor. I also recently watched the entire Only Fools and Horses (except another 2 episodes to go).

I came across Benidorm quite by chance, another really good series made better by (I'll always call him...) Boycee.
