Been a member of said social media website for about 5 years now, and can gladly say, IT`S GONE!

Over that time I met a couple of people I went to school with (20 years ago:eek:) and discovered that there is a reason why we haven`t seen each other for all that time............. say no more

Then I used it just to keep in touch with my local cycling club members, and I made it very clear on a regular basis - I hate having my photo taken, always have done. Yet after every club ride "you have been tagged in 2564 photos". FFS, how many times have I asked you guys not to do this:evil:

I got sick of people posting the same old crap, day in day out,,,,,,,yawn

Now I`ve had it totally deleted, no going back and I never will, I feel great now, I`m not living in a bloody fish bowl any more:smile:

Really recommend it!!

I think I spent a month or two on facebook but left it almost three years ago I think. Was talking to work colleagues on it but some of them were into windups so I got fed up.Haven't really missed it.I hear they like winding the cycling lot on there as well just like in the messroom.

I wouldn't touch it.

A few years ago a relative of Mrs SJ with a sensitive occupation got involved in a very public incident which made the papers and the TV news. She had to contact everyone she knew on FB pleading with them to remove any photographs they'd posted of her as the press were keenly interested in getting some.

No matter how ordinary a life you may be leading, you never know when you may inadvertently be thrown into the public spotlight through an event beyond your control..

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I have a Facebook account, but I only use it to keep in touch with a few old friends that I used to work with. And there are no photos of me anywhere. I have had friends requests from people I don't know, but I ignore them, then again, im an unsociable bugger.

I`m not living in a bloody fish bowl any more.

I've never understood that feeling. Whether brought about by social media or something else.

Is it a kind of shyness?

Pleased for you, but can't help note the irony that you've published these thoughts globally, and they will be archived until the decline of civilisation. ;)

I'm on it with a fake name and picture, very select associates mainly SAR. Any one starts any kind of multiple tagging malarkey just gets blocked without trial.

I'm chums with Biggs from in here, but he mainly posts about bikes.

Identity theft!!
