Goodbye (Good Old) Yellow Pages

No more after this year, according to what a distributor told me this morning. I'm surprised it's still going, I can't remember the last time I bothered to open one.

I used mine as kindling in the chimnea.
We also got a BT phone book through the letterbox t’other day. (Yes, it fit through the letterbox, as did the Yellow Pages!)

In the apartment block where I live there is a huge pile of them inside the door for the past 6 months and nobody has taken them. I did take one and tore pages out of it clean the windows!

It used to be a couple of inches thick, rather than the pamphlet it is now. I did the ripping thing too, after seeing a bloke do it on Swapshop

Yellow pages has always fitted through the letterbox. You just needed to be more determined back in the day.

When we were children we used the yellow pages and the local telephone directory for air rifle and air pistol testing. We'd fire at the things close up to see how deep the pellets would penetrate so we could judge the velocity of the 'weapons'.
