Google maps Sustrans route catastrophe

One aspect that may have some advantages (as well as some disadvantages) is that the traffic jam and delays avoidance means drivers are not trying to use their phones whilst moving approaching a line of stopped traffic ahead as the app will be doing that allowing them to focus on driving.

Except now they're watching it every few seconds while moving to see if it's offering a quicker rat run!

Yes, I have Organic Maps Offline as a detailed backup, plus my old OS maps too.
Yet most days I do not use or need maps .

Lancaster to Fleetwood which I did last month, I imagine most apps wouid have attempted to route via the permanently closed Knotts End Ferry. Luckily I guessed it was closed.

I often use Google maps to evaluate how busy the local roads are.

Is it my imagination, or is Google maps using yellow and red traffic indicators for lower levels of vehicles than it used to?
