can't you just add 'UK' to your search?

Just add site:uk in front of your search term.
For example "site:uk cycling" will return results for 'cycling' but only from UK based sites.

It helps to make sure that you are using google.co.uk rather than google.com. I've just set the preferences on my browser to do that. (It defaulted to the .com before.)

Google have been "improving" their layout by removing the side bar containing the uk only option so now you have to click on "search tools" at the top followed by "the web" then tick "pages from the uk"
