I'm assuming the rules haven't changed too much but a friend of mine had cancer and lost his eye, back in the 80's. He carried on driving for next few years until the cancer finally won. I know it is supposed to effect your judgement of distance etc but I felt safe when I was a passenger in the car with him.

I've got very little in the way of depth perception (although 2 working eyes); you'd perhaps be surprised what percentage of the (driving) population have no stereo/binocular vision

It's really not that much of a hinderance to driving to be honest. Only real difficultly is reverse parking; it's relatively difficult to judge exactly how much space there is to the car behind, and of course you always veer on the side of caution. I presume most of the rest of the time it's pretty easy to infer the distance from the size of the object :evil:
