. mind you I think you're legally allowed to drive if blind in one eye which would be very odd considering.

I'm assuming the rules haven't changed too much but a friend of mine had cancer and lost his eye, back in the 80's. He carried on driving for next few years until the cancer finally won. I know it is supposed to effect your judgement of distance etc but I felt safe when I was a passenger in the car with him.

i dont think you could rive if blind in one eye, your depth perception would be screwed and you would be bumpin into stuff all the time

I've got very little in the way of depth perception (although 2 working eyes); you'd perhaps be surprised what percentage of the (driving) population have no stereo/binocular vision

It's really not that much of a hinderance to driving to be honest. Only real difficultly is reverse parking; it's relatively difficult to judge exactly how much space there is to the car behind, and of course you always veer on the side of caution. I presume most of the rest of the time it's pretty easy to infer the distance from the size of the object
