So the redundancy axe came flying through our department, took out some good people but I've just found out this afternoon that I've made it through (having re-applied for my old job). 
However.
They're now talking about moving the team I'm in to a different office to bring people together a bit more, this would take my (round trip) commute from 25 miles with 1600ft of climbing up to 36 miles with 2900ft of climbing- that's a lot of work at the start and end of the day with a young family and other commitments- my commuting miles may have to take a hit
but at least I have a job! 

However.
